Nice writing, yoo too! Like it says, "Study to show yourself approved...". Our cat, Chowder, comes and gets on our bed starting at about 5 or 5:30 A.M., and has been Vicki's alarm clock. Vicki carries her downstairs saying "My ghoodness, my ghoodness!" just like that cat was a baby, which she is I guess, being only 5 1/2 mos. old. She caught her first mouse 2 nights ago and brought it live out of the pantry to me. She put it down, and as it sat up on its hind legs, I placed a glass over it, slid a piece of paper beneath it and carried it outside and released it.

Huzzah! Fav countryside things: canoeing in a cypress swamp (that was long ago), walking through fields and woods, maybe even lost for awhile; flying kites; hunting (in the old days tho' I don't like to kill things anymore); birdwatching and fishing (haven't done those to any extent in mucho yrs); stargazing (as a teener I would walk in pitch black a half mile to reach the highest field which gave the best view. Sometimes it would be after watching a scary show on TV). A dream of mine: To be at the perfect outdoor secluded country setting with the greenest grass, the best trees, bluest sky, whitest clouds. There is a picnic going on with a lot of the bestest, friendliest people, and there is a band playing the greatest songs and music of all time. And I am there, slightly fuzzy-headed walking around among it all.

Hi Nathan. Let's see, my fav world culture would be just about all of them I guess because each has its own very interesting characteristics. Well, ok, to narrow it down more, I'd say the American Southerners of all colors because I like their accents. They make me laugh for some reason, to hear them speak. The English are endearing also for the same reason, and because I got to know several quite well. They make good and loyal friends. Just about anyone who has English as a second language is very interesting to me to hear them speak. I have an attachment with Cubans who fled Cuba for Florida because I met and got to know several. Then you can't forget the Spanish and Mexicans for their great music. I enjoyed working with a Chinese and two Indian (East) fellow and even ones from Nepal and Turkey. All of these were engaging and quite jolly chaps. I conversed with a very friendly scientist from Georgia, Russia on a train ride in England. So it's hard to nail down a favorite as they are all favorites when in their presence and my memory. Even white North Americans, including Canadians can be nice. American Indians, I feel a real attachment to and I will always favor them no matter what. American Blacks too because we "grew up together" and are easy to talk to. When I found out I was part Irish, it was a happy day because it seemed to explain a lot of my crazy traits. In conclusion, I would have to narrow it down to the Americans: Indians; Southern Blacks, backwoods Whites.

Hi Sarah, Yes I feel the same way about the 10 o'clock hour. I seem to never be ready for it as there is so much I had planned to do and not got to or yet. I am reluctant to shut down. Vicki has got me pretty well trained though to go on and hit the sack. I have to kick myself and say ok lets get this thing over with, turn in and hope to get to sleep quick so as to start anew in the morning time. I read Robinson Crusoe in the 9th or 10th grade thereabouts, and I hated it when he was rescued at the end of the book because I was really enjoying his life of seclusion.

I just discovered your site (Congratulations on your new Blog) last night when looking at Micah's. (I am trying to get used to doing it Sarah's way and leave only one space after the period.) Anyway, in the right column of his Blog there is a list of things, one of which was "The Hopeful Farmer". That rung a bell and so I checked it out and am back this morning to say hi. I think books on tape/CD are a good way to go and really the only way to get ahead a little on all the good books out there we'd never get the chance to read otherwise. I've been going that way too.
